“I find that most of the time the struggle is not from what we are feeling, but rather how we feel about those feelings.”

Treatment Philosophies
Although I utilize a wide variety of techniques and approaches in my work with clients, there are a few set of therapeutic philosophies that I universally take with me in the therapy room.
The client-therapist relationship is the foundation of a rich, deep therapeutic experience.
My extensive personal experience in therapy is used as a driving force in my professional practice.
Self disclosure can be used as a powerful therapeutic tool.
I don’t believe in cliché questions like “How does that make you feel,” and I stray away from using them as much as I can.
My job is not to give advice, so I very rarely give it.
I do not “heal” or “fix” anyone. I’m just a resource to help with that process.
If you aren’t willing to be uncomfortable, therapy won’t be successful.
All feelings are valid. Not all thoughts, however, are rational.
Accountability is important.
Humor is required.
